Require Passcode to Start Engine
By activating the passcode protection, you now have control of who operates the vehicle and when the vehicle is operated. When enabled, the passcode must be entered before the engine starts. If your child is out riding, a restart option allows you to restart the vehicle within a pre-determined time limit before having to re-enter the passcode.

You can turn on this option if you want the passcode to be required to start the engine of your RANGER 150 EFI. When this option is enabled, the engine will not be allowed to start without entering the passcode on the display in the vehicle.

  • In the Ride Command app, turn the option for "Require Passcode To Start Engine" to on.
  • Sync your changes to your RANGER 150 EFI.

Passcode

Restart Lock Delay
If a passcode is required to start the engine, a restart lock delay also can be enabled. This will allow the RANGER 150 EFI to be restarted without a passcode for a specified period of time. For example: Your RANGER 150 EFI was started with a passcode and after operating was turned off or was stalled. A restart lock delay of 10 minutes will allow the engine to be restarted without a passcode for 10 minutes since the time the engine stopped.

  • Ensure "Require Passcode To Start Engine" is enabled on your Ride Command app.
  • Tap on "Restart Lock Delay."
  • Choose an amount of time for the delay.
  • Tap "Done."
  • Sync your changes to your RANGER 150 EFI.

Maximum Speed Limit
Ensure kids are riding at the appropriate speed for their age, experience and terrain by easily setting a max speed right from your Ride Command app.

This setting will set a maximum vehicle speed and will limit (override) any speed setting for geofences if the geofence speed limit is higher.

  • Turn the option for "Maximum Speed Limit" to On in your Ride Command app.
  • An option will appear below to set the value.
  • Tap on this option and select the maximum vehicle speed.
  • Sync your changes to your RANGER 150 EFI.

Speed Limit

Adding A Geofence
Keep your kids in safe parameters by quickly setting and controlling ride boundaries. Set speed limits for within and outside of a geofenced area.

A geofence is a virtual "fence" that allows you to specify vehicle speeds for inside and outside the area created by a geofence. The inside speed and outside speed can be set individually in any values from 10 to 29 miles per hour. Your RANGER 150 EFI can store three geofences, and only one can be enabled at a time.

  • On the Youth screen in the Ride Command app, tap "Add Geofence."
  • Tap on the "+" to start drawing your geofence.
  • Move the map and zoom in or out to find where your first point will be.
  • Tap the map to add your first point.
  • Move and zoom the map as needed, and continue tapping points to draw your geofence. You do not need to tap back on your original point to "close" the geofence. A line automatically will be drawn from the last point back to the first point.
  • A geofence cannot cross itself and cannot contain more than 24 points.
  • Tap "Save" when you are done drawing your points.
  • Give your geofence a name.
  • Tap the settings for speed limit inside geofence and speed limit outside geofence, and set the vehicle speed limit for each.
  • Enable the geofence (must be enabled to be enforced by your RANGER 150 EFI). Only one geofence can be enabled at a time on the vehicle, and the Ride Command app only will allow you to enable one at a time as well.
  • Sync the changes to your RANGER 150 EFI.

Geofence

Deleting a Geofence

  • On the Youth screen in the Ride Command app, scroll down to your list of geofences.
  • Tap on the one you would like to delete.
  • Tap the "Delete Geofence" button.
  • Sync the changes to your RANGER 150 EFI.

Troubleshooting

Cannot connect to vehicle:

  • Try turning the vehicle off, waiting 10 seconds and then turning it back on.
  • Ensure Bluetooth® is enabled on your device/phone.
  • In the Ride Command app, try going to the map, waiting 10 seconds and then going back to the Youth screen. This will force a disconnect/reconnect.
  • Try rebooting your device/phone. This will force all Bluetooth® connections to be closed.
  • If you have multiple RANGER 150 EFI vehicles, make sure the correct one is selected by swiping between them on the Youth screen.

Geofence doesn't work:

  • Ensure that the desired geofence is active and that your latest settings have been synced to the RANGER 150 EFI. Only one geofence can be active at a time.
  • Geofences are accurate within the precision of the GPS built into the vehicle. This is usually within a couple meters but can vary depending on GPS signal strength. The RANGER 150 EFI only limits speed by limiting the engine, so crossing a geofence from a faster speed to a slower speed may take some time for the vehicle to slow down to the specified geofence speed limit.

My password won't work/forgot password:

  • Try restarting both the vehicle and your device/phone.
  • If that doesn't work, your RANGER 150 EFI will need to be taken to a Polaris Dealer to have the password reset.
